‘Tasha Greer, a regular attender here at Faith, is seeking to hire someone to look after McKenzie, her 16-month-old daughter, for three days a week beginning the first week of January. All the Sunday School classes will meet in the sanctuary this Sunday for the "Hanging of the Greens." It is a combined decorating the sanctuary and nativity enactment. Jeanne picked up where Francis left off battering some of our church members' homes. Three of four elders had trees fall and roof damage - Jeff Ward from Francis and Bill Montgomery and Chad Preston from Jeanne. Ron Taber died peacefully Monday. His last activity was singing gospel songs with his wife Ruth and mother and sister. His funeral will be Friday, noon, in Ocala at St. John Lutheran Church where he first turned his life over to the Lord.

I've been calling around to church members. No one I've talked to has been injured. Most are without power and some have been without phone service. Another call has come in asking for shelter. The couple will arrive late tonight, depending upon the course of the storm. Here is our situation. Either the hurricane will hit us and we need to be alert to helping one another, or the course will miss us and evacuees from other places will come to us. Isaiah was born at 3:00 today, coming in at 7 lbs, 3 oz., 19 and 1/2 inches. Mother and baby are doing well. Traci's labor lasted a couple of hours, the real stuff about 1/2 hour. What a wonderful worship service Sunday!  How good it was to all be together and I especially appreciated the effort of everyone to have a good spirit which was clearly evident.  Many people from both services expressed their positive feelings.  It will still take a few weeks as we tinker a bit with the flow of the service, but having that positive attitude makes a big difference.
